MOTOR VILLAGE UK HOSTS INSPIRATIONAL DAVID BOWIE ART EXHIBITION

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' flagship dealer Motor Village UK has once again been chosen as the venue for a top art exhibition - this time a presentation of photography and artworks of singer David Bowie.

The Wigmore Street, London site - usually home to FCA cars such as the Fiat 500, Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Abarth 124 spider and Jeep Renegade - was converted last week (21 September) into a stylish gallery and private view drinks reception to showcase this homage to the ‘Ziggy Stardust' and ‘Aladdin Sane' performer.

Organised and curated for Motor Village UK by artist liaison agent Monica Colussi, the exhibition both salutes David Bowie while adding to his legacy with a collection of existing and commissioned work, including paintings, photographs and sculptures. Featured artists include Guido Harari, Rankin, Lincoln Townley and Louis Sidoli.

Motor Village UK was chosen because of its central London position and unique design and space. Situated just off Oxford Street, the showroom was originally created in 2008 with future exhibitions, displays and receptions in the plans, as well as the ability to showcase and sell cars.

"David Bowie's sense of subjectivity was the inspiration behind the show. It's a chance to celebrate both his private and artistic persona, and we are delighted that Motor Village UK has agreed to host us. It's a perfect and unique place for this type of event," says Monica Colussi.

"We're very happy to host this most important exhibition at Motor Village," says Rob Calver, managing director, Motor Village UK. "The subject of the exhibition is legendary and the featured artists are among some of the greatest available. We were again able to offer a first class reception and a unique showroom environment. I am delighted that the evening was such a great success."

Next week (28 September) in a related event, the Motor Village UK showroom will host an exclusive launch of GQ Magazine editor-in-chief Dylan Jones' new book, David Bowie: A Life.
